I like cheese. [Mar. 25th, 2010|05:06 pm]

Around here we are firmly in favor of supporting our friends when they do awesome things, and recognizing it when other people think they're awesome, too.

So I just thought I would link to this article about gorgonzola cheese made by my friend p_roqueforti and his co-workers. Not just gorgonzola cheese, although there is hardly such a thing as just gorgonzola cheese in my world. No, this is internationally renowned gorgonzola cheese! Champion gorgonzola cheese! So as soon as timprov and I felt well enough to stagger out and get some to celebrate, we did. Way to go, p_roqueforti and co-workers! Cheese all around! Cheese for everyone who wants it! Most importantly, cheese for me!

Your timing is impeccable. I just got home from a stop at Whole Foods:

The BYM: Bzuh? You ate $5 worth of cheese on the way home?
Me: It's not like drinking a cocktail was an option.

(It was a very nice Gabietou Herve Mons. And I will note to myself to look for your friend's cheese next time I am at a cheese counter.)

I like cheese too! Plus Amablu is really tasty cheese.:)

I was sad to not be able to go work the competition in Madison. Next time in two years I'm totally going to the thing. The kids will be large enough they can be left.:)

Cheese! Wonderful cheese! Hooray for cheese!

I really ought to look for a Grommit icon for cheese occasions.

I love how the headline starts with "Cave-dwelling cheesemakers..." as though at the end of the workday, the plant employees head into the deeper, darker caves to eat raw fish and bugs and whisper about nasty hobbitses.

At least Nora has the stalagmites to climb on.

Well... we do have sections of our caves that were walled off because, I like to assume, in days gone by the cheesemakers dug too greedily and too deep.

Nifty. I will keep my eyes open for them. "Nutty" is often a positive thing for me in cheese.

Thank you, Marissa and everyone else for the congratulations.

And a very belated congratulations to your friend icedrake for their Grayson which did very well at ACS back in 2008 (and again in 2009 too, though I didn't make it to Austin last year).
