Odd customs of the Norse

I rarely have a tyop of the day, but here's one this morning: "The icy path was barley, used until the spring." Um. Let's try that again: "The icy path was barely used until the spring." Right then. No trampling the slippery winter grains, takk.

So far this morning I have eaten first breakfast, gone to the grocery store, mopped the floors, cleaned the few fiddly bits of the kitchen markgritter didn't get to last night, run the Roomba in the rooms markgritter didn't get to last night, written a handful of e-mails, and added a few hundred words to The Mark of the Sea Serpent. I have two hours until my parents and my aunt and uncle arrive for second breakfast (everyone else's first -- I probably won't have much of a lunch, with a roll and fruit at 10:30). In that time, I need to get clean and presentable, put the house back together (kitchen chairs and rugs back on the mopped floors etc.), fold a load of laundry, and clean the fruit. I also hope to start the pear crisp, the chocolate cake, the chili, and another load of laundry, and I wouldn't say no to a few hundred more words on MSS.

I also wouldn't say no to falling over and sleeping, but I suspect that can wait until afternoon.
